SOFTWARE Our PracticalCNC machine ships with all the software you need to immediately start production. Included with the machine is 2 separate software packages, both included in the base price of the machine. First is the controlling software ...WinCNC Controller... ( www.wincnc.net ). Second is the design software... V Carve Pro...from the guys of Vectric Inc. this is a truly awesome package ( www.vectric.com ). This software will let you DESIGN...Toolpath...and CONVERT TO G-CODE...most anything up to 2 and 1/2D. As an option...doing 3D designing we now have Rhino 3D...what this allows is the importing of 3D files... With a PracticalCNC machine on the software side, we engineered it to be as completely open-ended and flexible as possible. In order to achieve this, we do not write any of our own in-house "PracticalCNC" software for use with our PracticalCNC machines. We do this so that customers have the ultimate freedom in choice of software. This means that if you already own a piece of CNC/CAD software, you can use it with our machine. Or on the other hand, if you're going into a particular industry, such as cabinetry, there may be a perfect piece of software for that exact application. In this case, you can be free to use that software with our PracticalCNC machine. We deliver the best flexibility in the industry in offering our customers ultimate choice and the freedom to run your own shop the way that best suits your needs. DEDICATED QUALITY Are you familiar with computer components? In a computer, the motherboard has the built-in ability to produce graphics and sound for the user. But to get ultimate delivery of great graphics and sound, a user can install a separate video graphics card or a separate sound card, to get the best performance possible. This is the approach we use with our CNC system- a dedicated card to put in your computer for ultimate CNC performance out of your machine, included in the price of the machine. Our competitors use software that runs your CNC machine out of the built-in motherboard parallel port, delivering lower performance in acceleration, S-curve contouring, and more. Their software retails for no more than $300, and to get support you have to post on public forums and wait for a response from a fellow user. AUTO TORCH HEIGHT CONTROL - ATHC With our optional ATHC Arc-voltage Torch Height Control, you get TRUE arc voltage torch height control, that monitors and adjusts the height of your plasma torch DURING the cut. Also, prior to a cut and after a cut, the plasma torch is raised UP and out of the way for rapid traveling to the next cutting point and lowers into place for its' next start. A true height control will compensate for voltage differences between the plasma torch tip and the material being cut. Other companies' ATHC units will only set the plasma torch initial height before the start of your plasma cut and go into a lockout and you have to stop..."they call it pause" the machine to readjust...so if your metal is not flat, your torch could bottom out and potentially endangering your torch. Get thoe advantage of a PracticalCNC machine, and have all the tools you need for success. RUGGED Our frame is made of anodized 3" square extruded aluminum. This means that it is treated with a layer of oxide using an electric current, making it highly resilient to wear. A 4'x4' table frame can hold 3" of plate steel on the bed with minimal deflection. The frame comes 1/2-assembled or fully assembled (your choice), which coupled with our assembly video DVD makes for very easy setup and installation. Our parts and are made with 1/2" thick precision ground plate, so there is absolutely no flex or give in your machine. Don't be satisfied with the compromises our competitors make with using 6061 aluminum in their critical parts. Bent or welded steel frames cannot hold to our tolerances in framing. When you think of this aluminum, don't think of tin foil- this is the stuff engine blocks are made of. Like engines, our machines are built to resist wear, heat, and stress. You also have hardware independance, which simply means you're not strapped to us for parts or software - all components can be purchased from several international vendors. The left and right sides of the machine are completely assembled, and you only need to assemble the center bed in between, joining the two halves together. After that, you just slide the bridge right on top (the part of the machine that mounts the tool and moves back and forth), and you're ready to start cutting.
